Preserving the caves of the American Southeast since 1972.

An internal organization of the National Speleological Society (NSS).

PLEASE CAVE RESPONSIBLY

CLEANWhite Nose Syndrome has devastated our critical bat population. We are committed to caving in clean gear, for the sake of our wildlife.
SAFE: We are here to train and advise new cavers in safe and proven methods of cave exploration. We also support our rescue squads.
SUSTAINABLE: We respect the non-renewable cave environment by adhering to the NSS motto: Take only pictures, leave only careful footprints. Touching or removing formations destroys them forever. We also respect cave landowners so that other cavers can continue to explore our underground world. If a cave is closed, please go somewhere else. Report to the community the landowner’s wishes. Do not publish cave information on social media and unsecured websites.

FUTURE EVENTS

To best preserve our caves and vet potential members, we encourage interested parties to join our page on Facebook. Caving trips, volunteer projects, and training days are posted regularly.
